چکیده
Nowadays, there are numerous new features available in CFD (computational fluid dynamics) that can simulate complex physical phenomena, which used to be challenging address. However, current software, certain problems simulated using different approaches. In our article, we chose rotating motion methods analyze a counter-rotating dual-rotor wind turbine (CO-DRWT). Using the approaches selected (mixing plane, frozen rotor, and sliding mesh), examined torque on rotors compared them. The following conclusion was reached. If transient flow must examined, then mesh method provided most realistic results, while rotor adequate if investigated effect of wake vortex near blades or its environment. mixing plane should when focus is kinetics kinematics blade structure.

A Novel Dual-Rotor Turbine for Increased Wind Energy Capture
Horizontal axis wind turbines suffer from aerodynamic inefficiencies in the blade root region (near the hub) due to several non-aerodynamic constraints. Aerodynamic interactions between turbines in a wind farm also lead to significant loss of wind farm efficiency. A new dual-rotor wind turbine (DRWT) concept is proposed that aims at mitigating these two losses. A DRWT is designed that uses an e...

متن کاملDevelopment of a Wind Turbine Rotor Flow Panel Method
The ongoing trend towards larger wind turbines intensifies the demand for more physically realistic wind turbine rotor aerodynamics models that can predict the detailed transient pressure loadings on the rotor blades better than current engineering models. In this report the mathematical, numerical, and practical aspects of a new wind turbine rotor flow simulation code is described. This wind t...
